The Locanda Antico Fiore is located very close to the Grand Canal, just three minutes from the "S. Angelo" vaporetto stop (line 1) which arrives close to the famous museums and monuments, to Piazzale Roma (the car terminal) and the railway station. St. Mark's Square is just 10 minutes walk away. Furthermore, the water door allows you to conveniently arrive to the water taxis and leave the hotel. Just five minutes away, Palazzo Grassi and Campo Santo Stefano, one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Venice and enlivened with bars, ice-cream parlors and little antique and book markets which are often held here. The square ends on the side of the Church of Santo Stefano, an important example of religious architecture dating from the fourteenth-century. The other end of the square hosts the eighteenth-century former church of San Vidal with a curiously inhabited nave. You can arrive to St. Mark's with a beautiful walk among the picturesque alleys and suggestive little squares and along Via XXII Marzo, the location of numerous prestigious boutiques full of world renowned designer clothes and accessories.

Activities/Attractions:

In Rialto, the famous bridge awaits you with its picturesque little shops, colorful fruit market and characteristic fish store. Instead, if you arrive from Calle della Mandola, with its lively craft shops, stop off in Campo Manin for a look at one of the few modern buildings in the city. Close by you will find the Scala del Bovolo in Palazzo Contarini, this very usual spiral staircase built at the end of the fifteenth-century.
For art lovers, the Locanda Antico Fiore is just 10 minutes walk from the Gallerie dell'Accademia, one of the most important Italian and international art galleries which hosts paintings by some of the most famous artists from Veneto, from Bellini to Giorgione, Carpaccio to Titian, from Tintoretto to Veronese and Tiepolo. Slightly ahead you will find another important collection: the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the most important collection of twentieth-century American art.
